The lazy days of summer have arrived, especially for those of us surviving in the tundra known as Minnesota.
What books comprise your summer reading list? Do you enjoy romance, thrillers, mysteries, or comedies? Now is a good time to explore genres that you ordinarily wouldn't read while you sip on that refreshing lemonade and listen to the faraway sounds of birds or ocean waves for those lucky enough to travel to the beach.
I am currently reading an anthology titled A Contract of Words, published by Scout Media. The stories include several genres with the central theme of a contract. It's amazing how multiple authors approach one subject with so many different story concepts. I'll write a book review when I finish it, but you can buy your copy now at http://www.scoutmediabooksmusic.com
Also I have started to read a thriller, Pretty Girls, by Karin Slaughter. I have only read the first three chapters, but I'm hooked on the story line and love this author's writing style.
The synopsis is a tale of Claire and Lydia, siblings torn apart by the abduction of their sister twenty years ago. When Claire's husband is murdered, the estranged sisters unite and unearth the secrets that connect the abduction and the murder. Sounds intriguing? It sure is.
This book was recommended to me by the owner of Sweet Reads, my local bookstore.
What are you waiting for? Head to your local bookstore, then relax with that pitcher of lemonade and enjoy a good book.
Happy summer reading!
